1913 $10 MS67 PCGS. Ex: Duckor Collection. The 191
1913<$10> MS67 PCGS. Ex: Duckor Collection. The 1913 ten dollar is considered a common date in the series with an original mintage of 442,000 business strikes. This roughly equates in rarity to the 1910, 1912, and 1915. In all grades below Gem Uncirculated, the 1913 is relatively easy to locate and Gems are only moderately scarce. In recent years, a number of previously unknown, higher grade Mint State pieces have become available to the numismatic community, but hardly any can be as attractive as this piece.
The 1913 is typically sharply defined, and the surfaces are highly lustrous. In fact, the luster seen on this coin competes with that seen on some of the best produced S-mint tens. The color varies somewhat from a medium yellow-gold to pronounced rose-gold on the highpoints. The surfaces have virtually none of the granularity seen on the 1910 to 1912 Philadelphia Mint coins, and are very satiny in appearance. A few minor abrasions are noted on each side under magnification, but only one tiny group under IN GOD WE TRUST in the reverse field is worthy of note as a future identifier.
David Akers noted: "A small number of exceptional quality (better than MS65) examples of this issue are known to exist, including at least two virtually perfect ones." As of this writing, only about 100 Gems have been certified at both services and fewer than 20 Premium Gems are known. This specimen is the solitary, Superb MS67 example seen by either service (3/06).
Indian Eagle Selections from the Dr. Steven L. Duckor Collection.

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid. This lot is being auctioned in conjunction with a live floor auction by Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers. All final auction and invoice information will be supplied by Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers, and all other information should be considered preliminary.
