1913 $10 MS66 PCGS. While common enough in lower grade
1913 $10 MS66 PCGS. While common enough in lower grades, enough so to be used for type purposes, the 1913 is a condition rarity in MS66 condition. The only graded MS67 example from the Dr. Steven Duckor collection realized $126,500 when it was sold by Heritage in April 2006. A small hoard of about 20 pieces was discovered in an old tavern in Niagara Falls, New York behind the bar-back. This discovery significantly increased the number of high grade 1913 twenties available to collectors of high grade 20th century gold. John Kutasi discovered this coin while searching through gold coin registry sets on the internet and contacted the owner via email. As a result, this piece was acquired for the Kutasi Collection directly from another collector in the U.K. This is a wonderful example that has radiant mint luster and rich orange-gold color. The surfaces are remarkably clean, even for an MS66 coin. The only marks we see that might be useful for tracing the pedigree of this coin in the future are located in the field below the M in UNUM--but then, we are looking with a strong magnifier and these may not be visible in older catalogs.
Ex: David Hall Rare Coins; Peter Gamble (collector in the U.K.).
From The Kutasi Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
