1913<$10> MS66 PCGS. This is a common date, one of the seven highest mintage Indian Eagles, and yet it is seldom seen in Gem condition. It seems that only 1926 and 1932 are regularly available in the highest grades. Brilliant and frosty luster with attractive yellow-gold coloration. Only a faint trace of rose toning is visible on the obverse. Sharply struck with excellent design details on both sides. The surfaces are not perfect, but they are certainly of exceptional quality with only a few tiny abrasions or scrapes. Gold coins, especially those of large diameter, such as the eagles and double eagles, were especially susceptible to marks because the metal is quite soft. For this reason, MS65 and finer examples are seldom encountered. Population: 11 in 66, 1 finer (11/05).
