1912-S 25C MS65 PCGS. This is a very scarce issue--just 708,000 coins were produced--that is typically offered well worn. Even a mid-grade circulated survivor is sure to attract considerable attention from Barber Quarter date collectors. An obviously important Gem, this ice-white example displays above average striking definition for the issue. Whereas many '12-S Quarters are bluntly struck on the reverse over the eagle's right (facing) talon and on the mintmark, this coin is bold, if not sharp, in all areas. There is a tiny nick on Liberty's nose, otherwise, the surfaces are smooth. We last offered a similarly graded '12-S Quarter as lot 5803 in our June 2002 Long Beach Signature Sale. That coin realized $2,530. Population: 11 in 65, only six are finer (9/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
