1912-S 1C MS65 Red and Brown PCGS. One of the incredibly difficult early S-mint Lincoln cent semi-keys in this popular series. This coin has a mixed olive-brown obverse with hints of red, while the reverse offers light sandy-brown with a hint of hazel. The details on Lincoln's coat, hair, and beard are boldly impressed, and the only obvious strike weakness on the reverse is the right side of the right wheat ear. As Gem Red early Lincolns continue their ascent to heights unattainable by many collectors, the Red and Brown option is becoming an increasingly viable and liberating alternative. Population: 19 in 65 Red and Brown, 1 finer (12/05).
