1912-D 1C MS66 Red PCGS. The 1912-D, with a mintage of over 10 million pieces, is a semi-key date coin that is moderately scarce in all grades. David Lange, in his 2005 Complete Guide to Lincoln Cents, writes: "In the higher circulated grades and in Mint State, striking deficiencies become a problem. Low-end Mint State coins are usually available, while choice and gem examples having original, fully red or even red/brown color are scarce and always in demand."
The fully Red Premium Gem specimen offered in the current lot displays gorgeous mint orange surfaces that are devoid of mentionable contact marks or spots. An unusually well-executed strike has left much better-than-average definition on the design elements, as evidenced by Lincoln's hair and complete separation of the lines in the wheat stalks. Population: 7 in 66 Red, 0 finer (1/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
