1912 $20 MS65 PCGS. This fully brilliant Gem has frosty olive-gold surfaces with hints of wispy rose toning. The surfaces are faintly abraded, although the marks that are visible remain strictly consistent with the MS65 grade. Gem quality examples of this issue are quite rare, especially when they are fully struck as this piece is. Dave Bowers noted: "In the context of double eagles of this era the 1912 is one of the scarcer issues. However, in absolute terms enough are around that you will have no difficulty in finding a nice one at, say, the MS-63 level. Gems are rare." With two Gem pieces in this sale, the present opportunity is quite remarkable. Population: 24 in 65, 4 finer (12/06).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
