1912 $10 MS66 PCGS. The 1912 eagle, with a mintage of just over 400,000 pieces, has a reputation as one of the more available issues in the Saint-Gaudens series. While not present in such quantities as the 1926 or 1932, Garrett and Guth (2006) state that enough "were coined and saved to satisfy collector demand." While this holds true even for Gems, anything finer is a condition rarity.
The surfaces of this immensely appealing Premium Gem are yellow-orange with a touch of peach at the upper right obverse. Aside from a touch of softness at the hair below the headband, the minimally marked devices have strong detail, and the glowing fields have a slightly satiny appearance. One of just nine pieces so graded by PCGS, with just two finer across both major services (8/07).

Coin Engraver: Augustus Saint-Gaudens

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
