1912 $10 MS66 NGC. With a mintage of slightly more than 400,000 circulation strikes, the 1912 is one of the more common dates in the Indian ten dollar series. According to David Akers (1988): "In any grade short of gem Uncirculated, the 1912 is common, and many specimens exist of gem and even superb quality." Type collectors thus hold the 1912 in high regard because of its availability and highly attractive appearance.
The usually seen granular surfaces on this MS66 example display pleasing luster and peach-gold color, and the design elements are sharply impressed. Well preserved surfaces reveal a few light marks on the Indian's cheekbone that may help to pedigree the coin. Census: 18 in 66, 1 finer (7/07).

Coin Engraver: Augustus Saint-Gaudens

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information\)
