1911 National Motor Boat Show Badge
1911-Dated. National Motor Boat Show Button Badge with central “Racing Motorboat” vignette. Brass. Near Mint.
This is an original “Members Badge” measuring 1.25” in diameter being an early Racing Motor Boat Lapel Pin. It is marked, “Nat. Motor Boat Show, 1911.” and depicts a Ship’s Wheel and Anchor with a classic Racing Motorboat. It is made from solid brass was a stamped number 885 on the back. The first National Motor Boat Show was held in 1905, in New York City, showcasing just 25 types of boats near what is now Grand Central Station. This is a participant’s badge which is very rare.
