<B>1911-D $5 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> As is the case with its quarter eagle and eagle counterparts, the 1911-D five is a challenging issue whose low mintage sets it apart from surrounding dates. Only a handful of collectors sought mintmarked gold coins in 1911, and Mint State survivors with unbroken luster are scarce. This almond-gold piece is nicely struck, and is surprisingly smooth despite a single brief mark within the headdress.
