<B>1911-D $5 AU58 PCGS.</B></I> Regarding the 1911-D half eagle, David Akers (1979) opines: "The 1911-D is a rare coin in any condition, only slightly less rare as a date than the 1909-O. Most known specimens are in the VF to EF range and there are only a few that could legitimately be called Mint State."
