1911-D 25C MS65 PCGS. Of the 1911-D, David Lawrence (1994) writes: "Strike is variable, but usually shallow. Occasionally some detail is very poorly struck up." The current Gem is an exception to Lawrence's assertion - a powerful strike has indeed imparted exceptional detail to the design elements, including Liberty's hair above the forehead, all parts of the shield, and the eagle's left (right facing) claw and adjacent arrow feathers - all areas that are often weakly struck. Near-white surfaces exhibit frosty luster, and just a wisp or two of light gold-tan color. A few unobtrusive, wispy handling marks are noted on the obverse.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
