1911-D $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS. The first of only three mintmarked issues in the 1908-1929 Indian Quarter Eagle series, the 1911-D is by far the rarest. It has been nearly a year since one of our Signature Sales featured a near-Gem representative of this important issue. Reddish-gold in color, both sides also exhibit rich green-gold undertones. The often seen alloy spots are not present, nor can we find more than a few trivial reverse abrasions. Sharply struck with a crisp mintmark. Expect this coin to incite significant competition between numismatists who specialize in high grade representatives of this widely collected series. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
