<B>1911-D $2 1/2 MS63 NGC.</B></I> The 1911-D is the rarest issue in the Indian quarter eagle series, with only 55,680 pieces struck. It is also a conditionally challenging coin in Mint condition, as well as pricey. These factors have bedeviled collectors for years who wish to assemble a uniformly graded set. Common dates can be purchased in the $1,500 range, but the 1911-D costs many multiples of a common date. This is a sharply struck coin that has finely granular surfaces and satiny mint luster.
