1911-D $2 1/2 MS62 PCGS. Denver was the only branch mint to produce quarter eagles of the Indian Head design, and it did so in only three years: 1911, 1914, and 1925. While the 1925-D quarter eagle ranks as one of the most available issues of the entire series, the 1911-D and 1914-D are far less common, and the 1911-D is the most prized and publicized quarter eagle of the entire series.
Like its higher-mintage counterparts, the 1911-D quarter eagle was not saved in quantity, and Mint State representatives are always in demand. This yellow-orange example has strong detail and pleasing, satiny luster. The surfaces have only wispy marks, though these are enough to limit the grade. A single claret-colored copper spot appears between 2 and 3 o'clock on the obverse, near the tips of the feathers on the Indian's headdress.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
