1911-D $2 1/2 MS62 PCGS. This piece is sharply struck with excellent obverse and reverse design definition, including a bold mintmark. The surfaces are fully brilliant with satiny yellow-gold luster. There are no significant blemishes on either side, just a few abrasions that are consistent with the grade.
Although third party grading and authentication has virtually eliminated the problem of counterfeits in numismatic circulation, it is still an excellent idea to become familiar with characteristics of individual dates. All 1911-D quarter eagles have a high wire rim at the upper right obverse border, although visibility of this trait is hampered by the holder. The reverse has a microscopic vertical die line in the space before the arrow points beside the mintmark.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
