1911-D $2 1/2 MS62 PCGS. This Indian Head two and one-half dollar key date representative displays soft luster resting on peach-gold, mildly grainy surfaces. A well executed strike manifests itself on the design elements, except for minor softness in the feathers on the eagle's shoulder. The mintmark is bold. A few unobtrusive, wispy handling marks are noted, especially on the raised, open fields. The wire rim on the upper right reverse, while difficult to see in the holder, is present. Interestingly, while the 1911-D is the most expensive coin to acquire in the Indian Head quarter eagle series, its rarity, according to Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth (2006), " ... barely nudges out the 1914-D, 1914, and 1912 dates."

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
