<B>1911-D $2 1/2 MS62 NGC.</B></I> The 1911-D is the key to the Indian Head quarter eagle series in all grades. Its 55,680-piece mintage is the lowest of the series, and few examples were saved at the time of issue. Most of the survivors are in the AU to lower Mint State range. High-end Uncirculated examples are scarce to rare.<BR> The MS62 coin presented in the current lot displays bright brassy-gold surfaces, and the design elements are generally well defined, including the D mintmark. A few wispy handling marks are noted on each side, none of which are serious.
