1911-D $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS. By definition, AU58 coins are coins that would likely grade MS63 or finer except for the slightest highpoint rub. Coins in the lower Mint State grades, also by definition, have distractions of some sort, making this key-date 1911-D in AU58 an attractive alternative, both economically and aesthetically, to an MS60-MS62 piece.
In practice, this coin offers mint luster that is essentially full, with trivial wear that appears as a slight color change on the highpoints of the Indian's brow and cheek and the eagle's upper wing. But the piece is nearly mark-free, with lush apricot-gold surfaces, a bold mintmark, and premium appeal.

Coin Engraver: Bela Lyon Pratt

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information\)
