<B>1911-D $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS.</B></I> The large emissions of eagles and half eagles from the Denver Mint in the two years prior to 1911 are likely the cause of the small production of this key-date issue, manufactured to the extent of only 55,600 pieces. The mintmark is pleasingly bold--a feature that many collectors seek in their purchasing decision--and only a hair's breadth of wear separates this piece from Mint State.
