1911 Albert Spalding Signed Cut Signature. Though a forty dollar per week contract in 1867 technically secured seventeen-year old A.G. Spalding's services as a clerk, more truthfully he was recruited to play for the Chicago Excelsior baseball team, making him one of the sport's first professionals. Still a household name today for the sporting goods empire he began, Spalding is enshrined at Cooperstown as one of the game's most noteworthy pioneers. Now, almost a century since his passing, most Hall of Fame autograph collections find him absent, and we're happy to remedy this problem for one lucky winning bidder. This 3x5" clipping was snipped from a handwritten letter, and reads, "with my compliments, A.G. Spalding, New York, Oct. 24, 1911." Black fountain pen ink is 9+/10, and the paper that houses it shows no flaws to note. LOA from PSA/DNA.
