1911<$10> MS67 PCGS. The 1911 is one of the more frequently encountered issues in the ten dollar Indian series, but its availability drops off dramatically after the MS64 level. Superb coins are virtually non-existent and are certainly no more available than the 1932 or 1926. Only seven other pieces have been so graded by PCGS with none finer, while NGC has certified nine coins with two finer (5/05). The surfaces show the fine-grain texture one expects from this date with a generous overlay of yellow-orange frosted mint luster, which flows around each side unimpeded by the abrasions one normally expects of this type. In fact, the only mark we see is a very shallow one (magnification is required) on the back part of the cheekbone of the Native American. Simply outstanding quality in this very challenging series. Sharply defined throughout.
