<B>1911 $10 MS67 NGC.</B></I> The 1911 Indian eagle has a relatively high mintage of 505,500 business strikes, and is one of the more available dates in the series, especially in grades of Very Fine to near-Gem. Gems are scarce, however, with fewer than 200 examples certified by NGC and PCGS combined. MS66 specimens account for about 70 pieces, and there are fewer than 20 Superb Gems certified. These figures are probably somewhat inflated when one takes resubmissions into account.<BR> On this Superb Gem, bright luster exudes from typically seen finely granular, frosty surfaces that possess a yellow-gold hue with traces of apricot. The design features saw a well impressed strike, as excellent definition shows in the Indian's hair and bonnet feathers and on most of the eagle's plumage. Both faces of this coin are remarkably well preserved. The only pedigree marks we can locate are some faint handling marks on the Indian's cheekbone.
