<B>1910-D $5 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> After the enormous coinage for the 1909-D in excess of 3 million pieces, the following year's Denver Mint emission dwindled to a measly 193,600 examples. Pieces such as the present example that approach a Gem designation are understandably scarce, as few collectors bothered to set aside a specimen of a coin that was unpopular at the time anyway. The present example has lustrous yellow-gold and steel-blue surfaces, a bold mintmark, and only a few minor marks in the left obverse field before the Indian's face.
