<B>1910<$10> MS63 PCGS.</B></I> Roger W. Burdette, in his <I>Renaissance of American Coinage 1905-1908,</B></I> quotes President Roosevelt's letter to the Reverend Roland C. Dryer, in which the former wrote: "If Congress alters the law and directs me to replace on the coins the sentence in question[,] the direction will be immediately put into effect..." True to his word, Roosevelt signed Public Law No. 120 on May 18, 1908, which mandated the design change that created the With Motto varieties of eagles and double eagles. This With Motto example has strong luster and minimally marked yellow-gold surfaces. The devices' details are sound, and the overall eye appeal is significant.
