1909-S VDB 1C MS65 Red PCGS. When the first Lincoln cents were produced in San Francisco, in 1909, they showed the initials of designer Victor D. Brenner along the lower reverse border. This feature proved controversial, and the design was soon changed, with the initials VDB removed. This is a well struck and nicely preserved Gem, with few surface flaws to distract the beholder.

Coin Engraver: Victor D.
