1909-S 1C MS66 Red and Brown NGC. Much more red than brown, both sides are nearly fully lustrous with a dominant orange-gold appearance. There is minimal muting to pale tan shades, and even then only in a few isolated areas. A little unevenly impressed, all features, nonetheless, are sharp with the exception of the uppermost feathers in Liberty's headdress. Some subtle carbon is seen around the central reverse, but noteworthy lack of abrasions and exceptional eye appeal more than uphold the validity of the MS66 grade. In sum, this is a coin that offers an uncommonly high degree of quality for even the Gem Red and Brown grade level. NGC and PCGS combined report only nine 1909-S Cents in MS66 Red and Brown. There are none finer with this color designation (10/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
