1909 Proof Set PR66 to PR68 PCGS. The lot includes:
Indian Cent PR66 Red. Beautiful peach and gold colors grace the obverse, the reverse is apricot in hue with wisps of olive-gray across the denomination. Intricately struck, the occasional pinpoint carbon fleck is noted for accuracy. The final year of the Indian Head design, proofs were also struck that year for the Lincoln Cent, with and without VDB initials.
Liberty Nickel PR66. Pastel apricot and plum colors adorn the unmarked surfaces. Fully struck, every kernel on the corn ears is intricately defined. An infrequent, miniscule carbon fleck prevents perfection.
Barber Dime PR67. Luxurious sea-green patination dominates the obverse, while the reverse displays blushes of light golden-brown color with dashes of apple-green toning at the borders. A prominently mirrored and razor-sharp Superb Gem. Less than 1,000 pieces were struck.
Barber Quarter PR67. Rich forest-green and rose-russet colors consume the obverse. The reverse is lighter in hue but nonetheless offers peripheral aquamarine and maroon-red patination. A meticulously struck and essentially immaculate specimen.
Barber Half PR68. Lush orange, electric-blue, and apple-green colors provide exceptional eye appeal. The strike is exacting, since only the right shield tip does not display complete definition of the design. This pristine type coin is worthy of the finest quality collection. Population: 6 in 68, 1 finer as PR68 Cameo (4/05).
From The Western Hills Collection.
