<B>1909-O $5 AU58 PCGS.</B></I> There are several scarce and rare issues in the Indian half eagle series, including the 1929 that is probably the most recognized date. However, the 1909-O is easily the rarest of these pieces in higher grades, with Mint State examples being particularly elusive. Near-Mint examples such as this piece offer collectors a wonderful opportunity to acquire an exceptional piece without the extraordinary cost of those that are certified as MS60 or finer. This example has virtually full luster with brilliant yellow-gold color and excellent surfaces. Only a trace of rub and minuscule surface marks are evident, and they are hardly worthy of mention.
