<B>1909-O $5 AU58 PCGS.</B></I> A product of the final year of operations for the New Orleans Mint and the only example of this design in either the quarter eagle or half eagle denominations, this date is one of the rarest and most important in the entire 20th century half eagle series. The mintage was a mere 34,200 coins with most survivors in grades below this piece. It is a sharply impressed example with highly lustrous yellow and orange-gold surfaces that are free of any distracting marks.
