<B>1909-O $5 AU58 ANACS.</B></I> The 1909-O half eagle has the lowest mintage of the Indian Head five dollar series, with 34,200 pieces. Very Fine and Extremely Fine examples are readily available, and About Uncirculated coins are fairly scarce. Mint State pieces are very scarce to rare (Douglas Winter, <I>Gold Coins of the New Orleans Mint, 1839-1909).</B></I><BR> Ample luster resides on this high-end AU example, and peach-gold color enriches both sides. A sharp, uniform strike leaves good definition on the design elements, though minor softness occurs on the eagle's shoulder.
