1909-D $20 MS64 PCGS. For at least 20 years the 1909-D has been an overlooked issue among early Saints. In an interview with a local paper in 1978, Steve Ivy listed the 1909-D as a coin to buy for long-term investment. It still remains a good buy today when one considers the availability and price of other dates and mintmarks in the series. Only one hoard of any note has been discovered and distributed over the past 30 years, that of several hundred pieces and found in 1983, most of which graded MS63 or less.
This is a remarkably clean coin whose satiny mint luster shows a lovely interplay of pale rose and lilac patina. Fully struck throughout.

Coin Engraver: Augustus Saint-Gaudens

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
