1909-D $10 MS64 PCGS. Breen-7110, that shows the D mintmark below the arrow points instead of opposite to them (as in Breen 7109). In his Complete Encyclopedia of United States and Colonial Coins, Walter Breen states that this was: "Apparently an intentional change of position to give a less cramped effect." David Akers (1988) suggests that the 1909-D ten dollar is one of the most underrated issues in the series, and is one of the rarest in an absolute sense.
Apricot-gold surfaces on attractive near-Gem display traces of light green, and have a pleasing frosty finish with great luster. The design elements are sharply impressed, with strong definition in the headdress feathers and the eagle's plumage. We note an unobtrusive hairthin line at the back of the jaw. Population: 30 in 64, 10 finer (3/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
