1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Expo Suffrage Pinback
1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition Suffrage Pinback With Ribbon. A colorful 32mm diameter button is affixed to a green ribbon announcing "Woman Suffrage Day". The button is in very fine condition while the ribbon's few minor creases make it grade in fine condition. The Woman Suffrage Day at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition was scheduled for July 7, 1909, the day after the national convention of the National Woman's Suffrage Organization concluded its festivities in Seattle. Organizers of Suffrage Day hoped to tie in the two Washington events. A large banner, inscribed "Woman Suffrage Day," was placed over the main gate to the exposition, and all those who entered the fair grounds were presented with a copy of this button and ribbon, the green of the ribbon representing the official color of the Equal Suffrage Association of Washington. A large kite with the slogan "Votes for Women" also was flown over the grounds, and balloons were sold with this same slogan. Just a great exposition item as well as a one-day event suffrage piece. Very few copies are known to have survived.

Shipping: Small Collectibles (view shipping information)
