<B>1909/8 $20 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> An important overdate variety within the series of U.S. gold coinage, the 1909/8 Saint-Gaudens double eagle is one entry among an extremely limited number of 20th century overdate coins. Unlike earlier overdate varieties, all of the 20th century overdates are sharp and clearly visible. These coins are doubled hub pieces, essentially doubled dies. It is believed that just one die was involved for the 1909/8 double eagles, This near-Gem specimen has satiny yellow-gold luster with sharp design definition, and pristine, nearly mark-free surfaces.
