<B>1909 5C PR67 Cameo NGC.</B></I> The Liberty nickel sported a mintage of 4,763 proofs in 1909, a couple of thousand of which have been seen by NGC and PCGS. A little more than 200, however, have been given a Cameo designation. The Superb Cameo in the current lot is simply breathtaking, as heavily frosted motifs appear to float on mirrored fields. Nearly untoned surfaces display exquisitely struck design elements, save for the usual softness in the corn ear and leaves left of the bowknot. Both sides are impeccably preserved.
