<B>1909 5C PR66 Deep Cameo PCGS.</B></I> Liberty nickels with cameo contrast are seldom encountered, regardless of the date. In all grades and all dates combined, PCGS has certified just 44 Deep Cameo proofs, 1,306 Cameo proofs, and more than 16,000 non-contrasting proofs. For all dates combined, in PR66 Deep Cameo, the PCGS population report shows a total of 17 submissions certified, but eight of those are the 1909. We believe that the actual population is probably just two or three coins, the balance being multiple resubmissions. An amazing piece with mostly brilliant nickel-gray surfaces enhanced by faint champagne toning on each side. The mirrors are deep and the contrast is exceptional.
