1909 5C MS65 PCGS. Despite a reasonably high mintage, in excess of 11.5 million coins, the 1909 Liberty nickel is scarce at the Gem level of preservation, and rare any finer; with none at all graded above MS66 (10/07). A tad weak on the hair detail above Liberty's forehead and temple areas, and on the reverse left ear of corn; most of the other design elements are crisply outlined. Strong cartwheel luster radiates from the champagne-tan and lilac-gray surfaces, that show minimal blemishes. Population: 49 in 65, 21 finer (10/07).

Coin Engraver: Charles E.
