<B>1909 $5 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> Just 80 examples of this date have been certified in MS65 or MS66 grades, a seemingly small number but this is the second largest Gem population for the entire Indian Head half eagle series, tied with 1909-D and lagging behind the 1908 for honors as the most common issue. This highly lustrous honey-gold example has excellent eye appeal with frosty surfaces. It is sharply struck on every obverse and reverse design element. The surfaces are pristine without any significant marks on either side.
