<B>1909 $2 1/2 MS65 NGC.</B></I> The 1909 quarter eagle, with a business strike mintage of 441,760 pieces, can be located in MS63 and near-Gem condition, but becomes more difficult in full Gem and better grades. Most examples of this date display noticeable surface marks. The honey-gold surfaces of this MS65 specimen reveal soft luster, and are clearly well cared for. The raised, exposed fields are unperturbed. Likewise, the sharply impressed design elements are devoid of significant abrasions. All in all, an exceptional and pleasing 1909 Gem.
