Eddie Cicotte was a pitcher in the Deadball Era who won 28 games in 1917 with the White Sox while leading the AL in ERA (1.53) and IP (346). Two years later he went 29-7 with 30 complete games, leading the league in wins, CGs, IPs, and winning percentage. However it was his 1919 post season that cemented his place in baseball history as he was a main protagonist in the Black Sox scandal. Cicotte was one of eight ("Eight Men Out") White Sox players who conspired to throw the World Series. In 1920 he won 21 games but late in the season was banned from organized baseball for life by commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis. Graded 2.5 GD+ by PSA, with a Piedmont 350 back.
