1908 San Antonio Bronchos Imperial Cabinet Photograph. With ninety-five wins and only forty-eight losses, the mighty Bronchos captured the Texas League Championship the season they gathered at the outfield wall to pose for this beautiful sepia image. They look more like lanky farmhands than State Champs in this marvelously evocative image, with their mismatched uniforms and battered equipment telling the story of baseball long before it became big business. The consignor has gone to great lengths to identify all players, and several did enjoy brief forays into the Majors, though Cleveland Indians outfielder George Stovall will likely be the only recognizable name to most. The image area remains in unflawed condition and measures to a size of 5x7", with the moderately worn mount extending the dimensions to 8x10". A vintage handwritten notation on verso identifies the ballclub. Certainly one of the earliest known team images from the famous Texas League.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
