<B>1908-O<25C> MS66 PCGS.</B></I> Delectable dove-gray, russet, and jade-green patina covers portions of each side, with the remainder brilliant and sporting considerable cartwheel luster. This example is pleasingly well struck--despite the reputation of the New Orleans Mint--and shows good detail on the shield, eagle's claws, and Liberty's highpoint hair, although a couple of the left-side stars lack full definition. Although the 1908-O is reputed to be a "common date," this is only the second time we have offered an MS66 example of this issue. Even the fabulous John C. Hugon Collection that we offered in January 2005 "only" had an MS65 example. Population: 8 in 66, 1 finer (9/06).
