Full ''John Muir'' signature as a ''Member A.A.C'', or American Alpine Club member, dated 24 February 1908. The American Alpine Club, founded in 1902, was a climbing and advocacy group based in New York City. Signed ''John Muir'' as Muir traveled around the Alaskan Glacier and wrote about it in one of his many nature advocacy adventures. Signature measures 5.5'' x .75'', under which appears ''(Muir Glacier)'' in another hand, and is cut out of an A.A.C. sheet. Two pinholes along left edge and minor foxing. Very good condition.
