<B>1908 $5 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> Rich peach-gold patina confirms the originality of this luminous first-year Gem. The strike is intricate, since the eagle's shoulder and the headdress feathers exhibit essentially full definition. Luster sweeps across the fields and devices when the piece is rotated beneath a light. Only trivial marks are encountered, and the eye appeal is excellent. While the eagle and double eagle denominations have both Motto and No Motto varieties for 1908, all quarter eagles and half eagles with this date bear the Motto, since it was part of the initial design.
