<B>1908 $5 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> 1908 was a transitional year for the half eagle, where the Indian Head type replaced the Liberty Head design. The present near-Gem Indian Head exhibits pleasing luster and honey-gold color that projects a greenish-tan cast, and a well executed strike appears to have left no areas with design weakness. A few minute marks on the Indian's cheek and on some of the raised, exposed fields limit the grade.
