<B>1908 $20 Motto MS65 PCGS.</B></I> Highly lustrous with frosty surfaces, this yellowish-tan piece is a wonderful Gem double eagle. The reverse has traces of pinkish-orange toning, especially near the borders. The first year of issue for the modified design with IN GOD WE TRUST on the reverse. This date is surprisingly difficult to locate in higher grades, despite a mintage of more than 150,000 coins. Today, Gem quality examples are particularly elusive. Most of the mintage was exported, with nearly all examples that remained in this country being melted during the 1930s. Imports from Europe provide much of the available supply today.
