<B>1908 $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS.</B></I> This Premium Gem is a remarkable example marking the first year of this new and distinctive design. The Indian Head quarter eagles and half eagles are the only U.S. coins with an incuse design, making them unique within American numismatics. Some weakness is noted, primarily on the upper part of the eagle's wing as always on this date. The dies were not prepared properly as the Mint engraving staff was not accustomed to this type of design. This example is a remarkable coin with bright and frosty yellow-gold color and pristine surfaces.
