1908 10C MS66 PCGS. A sharply struck, satiny Premium G 1908[10C] MS66 PCGS.
1908<10C> MS66 PCGS. A sharply struck, satiny Premium Gem with essentially brilliant surfaces, accented by light champagne color on both sides. The obverse has a narrow circle of peripheral gold, russet, and green toning, only slightly encroaching on the letters. Both sides are fully defined with strong hair details on the obverse and complete detail in the various leaves of the wreath on the reverse. This issue ranks 60th in Mint State population. Although the various Philadelphia Mint coins are rather common, even in the better Mint State grades, this is purely a result of sheer numbers. Over 10 million of these were struck, and many have survived as a matter of chance. They were not saved by collectors in the earliest years after their mintage, as most early collectors vastly preferred Proof examples. Today's collector prefers matched sets of these coins, either collecting only the proof issues, or seeking out all date and mintmark issues in business strike form. Population: 11 in 66, 0 finer (11/05).
From the Collection of Dr. Steven L. Duckor.
